Vegan Designer Shoes

Monday 5 January 2015

Since giving up my old vice of cheese and cakes, I soon discovered another vice. Shoes. Or more specifically, designer shoes. Trust me to pick one of the most difficult things to veganize. Although your heart may still be broken after discovering you might never own a pair of vegan Louboutins, let me introduce you to eight new brands that put Louboutins and Jimmy Choo’s to shame.

Melissa

Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Karl Lagerfeld and more huge names in the fashion world have all designed for this Brazilian company who make shoes out of 100% recycled plastic.

Stella McCartney

Obviously. She’s the biggest name in the world of vegetarian/vegan shoes right now and one of the only designers who constantly puts fashion first.

Where to buy...

Ivana Basilotta

High quality, luxurious vegan footwear that rivals any leather designer shoe.

Mink Shoes

No, not real mink. These shoes are gorgeous and each shoe is designed and named after a different animal. Pamela Anderson and other vegan celebrities own multiple pairs of these fabulous shoes. Unfortunately, due to some reason they’re extremely difficult to get a hold of.

I would often check Yoox as they sell these shoes there sometimes.

Cri De Coeur

These shoes are amazing quality, durable and fashion-forward.

Olsenhaus

Unique, gorgeous shoes that are 100% cruelty free and have made a huge impact in the vegan world of designer shoes.

Good Guys Don’t Wear Leather Shoes

Designer shoes aren’t just for girls! Although Good Guys makes shoes for everyone, they are a French company that make gorgeous, durable designer shoes to suit anybody.

Where to buy...

Jeffrey Campbell

Yes, Jeffrey Campbell teamed up with Convertstyle to recreate some of his iconic designs for vegans and anyone who isn’t comfortable wearing leather. Although I’m altogether quite disappointed with these shoes, despite being amazing quality and unbelievable fake leather, the designs feel like a watered down version of his usual collection. Why should leather-wearers get galaxyesque and sparkly pink shoes whilst we get black and pewter? Boring. Maybe they’re not for everybody.
